what do you need? what do you want?

i realised this very late in life... probably because i was a cocky rich kid with no rules. what i want was always the most important thing in life.

what we want is vastly different from what we need. i learnt it the hard way. once i realised this, my prespective, attitude towards everything changed. do i really need a new phone? do i really need a new computer? or an ipod? or new furniture? the list goes on...

i often get caught up in arguments with myself - should i buy it or not? should i sell it or not? yada yada yada... i sometimes think, i have only one life why waste it? even though i have this thought, i still feel that i should buy what i need. its often a case of logic overcoming emotions.

stand in front of an iphone and you'll know what i mean. after a week of argument, i finally decided to get myself a blackberry.... in my world logic prevails.
