when is ignorance blissful?

we all know, ignorance is bliss. the art of making the most out of the situation, the best example being the financial industry especially the credit cards... many have drowned in debt because of it. the amount of profit made out of every card issued will make you jealous as its super easy money long term.

apply ignorance in your life, take your personal finances for a start. lets use buffettology (teachings of warren buffett) as an example, the main aspect is to first save and then spend. how many of us actually do that? we get our pay at the end of the month and then start calculating our bills, so whatever is left is savings. it seems impossible to reverse the approach isnt it?

lets take the next one, family. how much do you know your spouse? how much do you know about your siblings? your parents? how much do they know about you? you get so occupied with what you are doing the whole day... you take them for granted. you usually end up with assumptions.

so who seem to benefit the most from all of this? the worlds greatest entrepreneurs certainly do & they know how to do it well. when they started out, the only thing they had was a vision and a deep belief in their service or product. things you take for granted now... electricity, cars, computers, software... you name it was once laughable and the people who believed in it were termed crazy and foolish. these entrepreneurs created new industries, new markets, a new way of making money.

ignorance is blissful when you have foresight. what you have noticed and other had it in their blind spot. the most famous one is how barack obama used facebook & his website to win the elections. obvious as it seems now, his contenders came late to the party which gave him a huge advantage. so now we have the world's most powerful man using technology to his advantage. finally.

what does the greatest minds have in common? they are ofcourse great thinkers, but what have they done instinctively?

you have a choice to think and envision... till that happens our ignorance will make them blissful!
