Marriage
i haven't written in my blog in a long time, its almost a year now... and thats because i was busy enjoying my married life!
Marriage: blessing in disguise to many (especially me)... curse to some... for some the word relates to a loss of freedom. how you relate to a sensitive issue like this is up to you and the circumstance that you are in. its how you perceive it... you can make your life a heaven on earth or a hell on earth... the power to do that is in your hands.
nothing is made in heaven, not even marriage. i might sound cynical, its what it is, there is no escape from reality when the marriage actually happens... and what reality am i talking about? the ability to live through a marriage. the word 'teamwork' couldn't be more relevant here ;)
till the wedding, everything seems magical... you have all the people around you doing the work in excitement, wishing you the very best... and in the moment you would feel everything is going according to plan. this would last about 4 months in my estimates.
i'm fortunate to get a wife who is very realistic and down to earth. I often hear things like 'wave length', 'mis-understanding', 'ego clash', 'power struggle', 'character conflict'... and so on. The Main issue I feel between couples and their families is Freedom... the liberty to do what you want, when you want builds trust, engages in constructive talk and always balances the situation.
When practiced it can make any big issue small and help you solve the problems that life throws at you. There will be chaos, arguments over topics when each others point of views are expressed... all you need to do at this time is LISTEN to each other.
Marriage in my opinion is about living together... that 'ONENESS' is the key catalyst.
When asked what makes a successful couple - I would simple put: SUCCESSFULLY INDEPENDENT, EFFECTIVELY INTERDEPENDENT!
