Is being nice a good thing?
One of the comments that I got since I was a kid - Nadir, you are too nice. In today's world you would be picked on, ridiculed and even hated by many.
I must thank the friend who said this to me when I was a kid. As he said, picked on, ridiculed and even hated has happened and still happening to me even now.
I always wondered why. Is being nice a crime? Our religion teaches us to be nice but why aren't we?
Money, Power and Materialism has taken over our minds so much so that the true purpose of us living today does not mean anything to future generations especially our kids. I always take the example of my father who always made sure the people around him succeed and he did this selflessly without expecting anything in return.
Even now, 13 years after he passed away, I hear stories about how he helped when it mattered most and his best friends still cry at the very mention of his name. This is called legacy.
Being nice leaves a lasting legacy. A legacy which people will never forget till their last breath. So being nice is one of the greatest gifts a man can get, it is a very good thing to have indeed.
